Pumpkin patches, hayrides & corn mazes – oh my!

In Seattle, there’s no time like October for pumpkin picking and harvest happenings. From corn mazes and pumpkin patches to hayrides and petting zoos, we’ve got the goods on 14 great spots to have some good old fashioned farm fun. All are within an hour’s drive of Greater Seattle; just make sure you call ahead as some farms have limited weekday activity and some require reservations. Then bundle up in dirt-friendly duds.

1. Remlinger Farms Pumpkin Patch
Catch a ride on the steam train, check out the 4H barnyard, explore the hay-maze and toddler play area and, of course, pick some pumpkins on a self-guided tour. (Reservations required.)
Details: 32610 NE 32nd St., Carnation, Thursdays starting at 10:00 am. (gates close two hours after last reservation), Fridays 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (gates close at 3:00 pm).
*This year they are also open for Halloween, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm!

2. Fall City Farms Pumpkin Patch
Meet goats Wally, Bing, Harry and Poppy, scour the pumpkin patch and navigate the hay-maze. Don’t forget to bring a bag to fill with fresh, u-pick veggies. This farm is cash only, and you’ll need to leave your pets at home.
Details: 3636 Neal Rd., Fall City. Open: Mon. Noon to 6:00 pm., Tues. to Sat. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sun. 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

3. Mosby Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch
Add up a fantastic corn maze, a Gi-normous pumpkin patch, and tractor-pulled hayrides, and the result is a super fun day. Added attraction: On Oct. 1 they have beer tasting with snacks! And on October 13, enjoy wine tasting and bring home a Mosby Farm wine glass!
Details: 12754 SE Green Valley Rd., Auburn . Daily 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

4. Dr. Maze’s Farm Pumpkin Patch
Dr. Maze’s farm is full of activities. They’ve got farm animals, wagon rides and a pumpkin patch with tons of variety, you won’t know where to begin. Want extra fun? Check out Friday and Saturday night Flashlight Maze nights.
Details: 15410 NE 124th St., Redmond, Open Friday – Sunday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

5. Two Brothers Pumpkin Patch at Gamehaven Greenery
This family-owned pumpkin patch has been open for 25 years and includes a petting zoo, cornstalks, hay maze and both u-pick and pre-picked pumpkins.
Details: 7110 310th Ave. NE, Carnation, Open daily from dawn to dusk.

6. Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm
It’s not just about the pumpkins at this farm, which has a Trike Track (kids ride John Deere tricycles!), playground, cowtrain and pony rides. There’s also an onsite photographer. And! They also host birthday parties!
Details: 10917 Elliott Road, Snohomish, Open daily 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

7. Stocker Farms Pumpkin Patch
In addition to a 10-acre pumpkin patch, this farm features a weekend Pumpkin Festival Field with hayrides, pumpkin launching, trout fishing, food and crafts booths.
Details: 10622 Airport Way, Snohomish. Market open daily; Festival Field open on weekends from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

8. Craven Farm Pumpkin Patch
With a 20-acre pumpkin patch, 15-acre corn maze, hayrides, storytelling, scarecrow making, a petting zoo, plus a donut and espresso bar, this farm covers all the bases.
Details: 13817 Short School Road, Snohomish. Open daily from 8:00 am till dark.

9. Fairbank Pumpkin Farm
This weekend-only pumpkin patch has a side attraction: kids get to feed pumpkin to the resident pigs. They also sell baby goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and calves in case you want to take any home with you!
Details: 15308 52nd Ave. W., Edmonds., Sat-Sun. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

10. The Farm at Swan’s Trail Pumpkin Patch
Check out the 12-acre corn maze (in the shape of Washington State), plus enjoy a hay maze in the barn, childrens hay jump and play area, fishing, cow train, petting farm and corn bin. This farm is great for little ones as it doesn’t have any scary Halloween decorations, and instead has a fall harvest theme.
Details: 7301 Rivershore Road, Snohomish. Open daily 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

11. Carleton Farm Pumpkin Patch
Explore the twists and turns of the chicken shaped corn maze, check out the farm animals and slip down the tube slide.The little ones will love the brand new spider web for lounging and crawling. Oh, and don’t forget to pick some pumpkins!
Details: 830 Sunnyside Blvd. SE, Everett. Open daily, 10:00 am to dusk.

12. Trinity Tree Farm Pumpkin Patch
Known for its U-cut tree farm, Trinity has expanded this year with a U-pick pumpkin patch, train rides, tractor-pulled hayrides and bounce houses. ?They’ve also expanded their concessions to include kettle corn, hot dogs, chips and beverages!
Details: 14237 228th Avenue SE, Issaquah. Fri to Sun. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

13. Carpinito Brothers Farm
The Carpinito U-Pick pumpkin patch and both of their corn mazes opens September 30th! The theme of these year’s maze is UW and WSU for a very local, festive feel. With over 50 acres or farmland you’re sure to find the perfect pumpkin and have fun doing it.
Details: 277th & W. Valley Hwy in Kent, Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Sunday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

14. Camp Korey at Carnation Farm
Every year through the month of October you can contribute to Camp Korey, an overnight camp for children with facial differences, at the Carnation Farm. You can make this pumpkin farm an all day affair with a pumpkin pancake breakfast, hay rides, corn maze, a harvest lunch, and tons of pumpkins and corn stalks to choose from for all of your Halloween needs. This is a great way to have fun and give back to the community this fall.
